Apprentices

Michael Gee

Michael Gee was born and raised in Oak Ridge, TN. He recently graduated summa cum laude from Western Kentucky University with a BFA in Performing Arts with a Dance Concentration and a Math minor. Michael trained there under Clifton Brown, Amanda Clark, and Carrie Breuck. He was privileged to work with guest artists such as Christopher Morgan and Mitzi Adams during his time at Western Kentucky University. He also got the opportunity to go to Italy with part of the Western’s dance company. During this summer he was able to go to CityDance Ensemble’s summer intensive in Washington DC. Michael is excited to start his dance life in Chicago with Inaside Chicago Dance and is looking forward to growing as an artist and a person.

Ashley Smith

Ashley Smith is from Phoenix, Arizona and began her dance training at the age of 3. Ashley studied all forms of dance and grew up in Dallas and Phoenix as a competitive dancer. Ashley received a scholarship to attend Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated cum laude with a B.A. degree in Dance. During the summer months, Ashley continued her dance training at the Edge Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles and at the Broadway Dance Center in NYC along with the Lou Conte Dance center, River North intensives and The Giordano Dance School in Chicago. After graduating from college, Ashley received a full scholarship to study and perform at the Giordano Dance School in Evanston, IL as a member of Giordano 3. Since living in Chicago the past year Ashley has had the opportunity to perform in Dance Chicago and the Giordano on Giordano showcase as well as Matter Dance company’s ’09 show “Revolving Doors”. Ashley is excited to be in her first season as an apprentice with Inaside Chicago Dance.
