Michael DarnellMichael Darnell is originally from Tucson, AZ where he started dancing around the age of 11. From the age of 11, he has been lucky to be a part of different dance companies: France Academy of Dance, Cecily Dance Tech and Arizona Ballet Theater. He also attended the University Of Arizona School Of Dance with a BFA with a major in dance and just graduated the year of 2009. He was able to perform in works of Mia Michaels, Leslie Peck, Norman Walker and Rochelle Zyde. Also while attending the University Of Arizona he was able to work with an extraordinary faculty which included: James Clouser, Amy Ernst, Melissa Lowe, Doug Nielsen, Susan Quinn Williams, Michael Williams and Sam Watson. Michael also attended American Theater Dance, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and Blue Lakes International Touring Group. Michael also choreographed a Musical Theater dance for Tucson’s 12th Annual TIHAN which helped raise money for their AIDS Benefit. Michael just moved to Chicago and is very excited to start his first season and performing opportunities with Inaside Chicago Dance.
Noel PowersNoel Powers originally from Schaumburg, Illinois, earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance from Western Michigan University, where she was awarded The Dalton Exceptional Dance Major Scholarship and the Wendy Cornish Endowed Scholarship. She has performed in such Great Works as George Balanchine's Who Cares? and Serenade as well as Lou Conte's The 40s. In 2005, she had the privilege of performing George Faison's Suite Otis at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. as part of the Masters of African American Choreographers Showcase. The past four summers, she has participated in the River North Chicago Dance Company's Summer Intensive/Invited Artists Program and was most recently awarded a scholarship to the Thodos Dance Chicago Summer Intensive. Ms. Powers is involved in both choreographing and teaching at studios in the Chicago area.
Lisa ScurlockLisa Scurlock is from St. Charles, IL and graduated Magna Cum Laude of Western Michigan University, MI with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance and a Communications Minor. There she was selected to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. with Philadanco and had the privilege to perform works of many world-renowned choreographers, including Lou Conte, George Faison, Gus Giordano, Harrison McEldowney and Diane McIntyre. Other training in professional dance experiences includes the River North Chicago Dance Summer Intensive program and a contract with Royal Caribbean Productions. Lisa has performed in Thodos New Dances and is a company member with Inaside Chicago Dance for her second year. Lisa recently choreographed for Inaside Chicago Dance for their Spring 2009 Show. Lisa enjoys teaching, choreographing and performing throughout the Chicagoland area.
Tony SuhadolnikTony Suhadolnik grew up in Seattle where he started dancing at a neighborhood studio at the age of ten. He furthered his training at the Arc School of Ballet in Seattle and, while in high school, was nominated for several 5th Avenue Musical Theater Awards. In 2007, Tony moved to San Francisco to train for two years at Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet School’s Training Program. While there, Tony worked with Robert Moses, Alonzo King, Yannis Adoniou and several other Bay Area choreographers. After graduating, he then guested with Moving People Dance Theater in Santa Fe, New Mexico before moving to Chicago. This is Tony’s first season with Inaside Dance Chicago.
Jennifer WycykalJennifer Wycykal, a native of Arlington Heights, studied on scholarship at the Ruth Page Foundation as well as attended summer programs with Ballet West, Joffrey Ballet, and River North Chicago. She is a BFA recipient from the University of Utah ballet department. As one of the department's most versatile students, Ms.Wycykal performed and choreographed in seasonal shows as well as danced leading roles with the University's Ballet Ensemble. She has performed locally with Civic Ballet of Chicago, Schaumburg Dance Ensemble, Thodos New Dances, and Vadco. Ms. Wycykal is on staff at Northwest Ballet Academy, and enjoys choreographing throughout the Chicagoland area. This is her fourth and most exciting season with Inaside Chicago Dance. |
