Kenna Johnson
YTP Director and Company Member
Kenna Johnson grew up in Glenview, IL training at Kaleidoscope Dance. The continuation of her passion led her to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of Kansas. While attending the University of Kansas she had the honor of performing in pieces choreographed by Dusan Tynek, Jennifer Hart, and Meggi Sweeney. At the University of Kansas, Kenna received the Elizabeth Sherbon award in 2012, and was chosen as the commencement speaker for the Department of Dance in 2013. She was the winner of the 2015 Choreographic Sponsorship Event hosted by Inaside Chicago Dance, which brought her piece, Lost Playground, to the professional stage with Inaside's Spring Concert.
Receiving her yoga certification in the summer of 2012 and National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Training Certification in 2014; she teaches a number of group fitness classes and personal trains throughout the Chicago land area. She enjoys exploring the connections between these somatic processes and her dance. Kenna is very excited for her fourth season with Inaside Chicago Dance and first season as a company member. She thanks all her family and friends for their endless support!
